Delete Account
This page explains how DeepSearch closes an account, what is deleted or anonymized, what can be retained, and which separate subscriptions, public results, or Data Cleanup records need additional action.

Before you delete the account
Account deletion is permanent and is not the same as signing out, uninstalling the app, canceling renewal, clearing browser storage, or suppressing a public page. Export or save anything you need before confirming. Shared links, reports, API integrations, and workspace access may stop working without recovery.
If you only want to stop future billing, cancel the subscription instead. If you only want a DeepSearch public page about you removed, use Remove my info. If you want both, complete both processes.
Delete through the web or mobile app
Sign in, open the account or settings area, find the data or account section, choose Delete account, and confirm the warning. We may require recent authentication or a fresh login code. The automated workflow begins closing the account and deleting or anonymizing associated product data.
Keep the confirmation. Do not start another purchase or create new content while deletion is running. If the control fails, capture the error without exposing a password or full payment details and contact support.
Request help when you cannot sign in
Email support@deepsearch.app from the address associated with the account and use the subject "Delete my account." Include the account email, sign-in method, and enough non-sensitive context to locate the account. Do not send a password, one-time code, full card number, or unrelated identity document.
If you no longer control the account email, explain why and give another secure contact method. We will use proportionate checks to prevent someone from deleting another person's account. We may decline an assisted request until ownership is reasonably verified.
Verification and authorized representatives
Verification may use a signed-in action, email confirmation, authentication history, transaction identifier, recent account activity, or another limited signal appropriate to the risk. We will not ask for more personal information than reasonably needed. A high-risk or disputed request can require additional time or a secure verification method.
A legally authorized representative may submit a request, but we may request evidence of authority and direct confirmation from the account holder unless law provides otherwise. Requests for a deceased person, minor, or protected adult are reviewed under applicable law and may require proof of relationship or authority.
Subscriptions and recurring payments
For an active web subscription billed through Stripe or PayPal, the automated deletion process attempts to cancel the current recurring agreement before removing account access. Cancellation stops future renewal but does not by itself create a refund. An open payment, refund, or dispute may need to be resolved separately.
Apple App Store and Google Play subscriptions are controlled by the store account. Delete the DeepSearch account and cancel the subscription in Apple or Google settings; deleting the account or app may not stop the store's renewal. Review the Refund Policy for app-store and web refund channels.
Account data we delete
Subject to the exceptions below, the process deletes or disconnects account information and active product data such as:
- saved searches, search history, candidate selections, people, dossiers, and watchlists;
- chat threads, messages, attachments, shared reports, and generated share links;
- saved images and reverse-image uploads stored for the account, including stored avatars;
- jobs, attempts, saved workflow state, notifications, email preferences, and external sign-in links;
- API keys, webhooks, idempotency records, usage records, and unused entitlement state;
- workspace-specific product settings and other active records tied only to the deleted account; and
- the authentication account when no lawful operational record requires a disabled identity shell.
Data stored only on your device may remain until you clear browser or app storage, delete downloads, or remove the app. A report another user lawfully copied or exported into their own account is not automatically deleted from that separate account.
Data we anonymize or retain
If an account has billing or other records that must be preserved, we may disable rather than physically erase the minimum account shell, replace the sign-in email with a non-deliverable deleted-account identifier, clear profile fields and balances, remove payment-provider links from active access, and keep only the fields needed to maintain referential integrity and legal records.
Limited information may be retained for:
- tax, accounting, invoicing, payment, refund, and chargeback obligations;
- fraud prevention, sanctions, abuse investigations, security events, and rate-limit enforcement;
- proof of consent, authorization, cancellation, deletion, or a rights request;
- legal claims, litigation holds, court orders, regulatory duties, and limitation periods;
- protecting another person's rights and preventing repeated unlawful use; and
- aggregated or irreversibly de-identified analytics that no longer identifies the account holder.
Retained records are restricted from ordinary product use and kept only as long as the applicable purpose reasonably requires. Payment providers and app stores keep their own transaction records under their legal obligations.
Active Data Cleanup campaigns
Data Cleanup is a separate, authorized service. Deleting the DeepSearch account does not retract a broker request already submitted, erase a record already sent to a receiving broker, or guarantee that a provider-side campaign closes at the same moment. Those parties process the request under their own legal duties.
If you have an active campaign and want it closed, email support before or immediately after account deletion. We will stop future campaign work where reasonably possible, request deletion of the provider-side member where supported, and retain limited purchase, authorization, request, and outcome records when needed for compliance or a dispute. A broker may independently retain proof that it honored or denied an opt-out.
Public pages and search-subject information
Account deletion removes customer and product data associated with the login. It does not necessarily identify or suppress public or licensed information about the same person, because a search-subject record may have come from an independent source and may not be linked to the account.
Submit the phone number, person's name, or direct DeepSearch URL through Remove my info if you also want a DeepSearch public page suppressed. That process can retain a limited suppression key so the page is not automatically republished.
Third-party copies and completed disclosures
Deletion from our active systems does not automatically delete information that was independently controlled by Stripe, PayPal, Apple, Google, a source site, a public authority, an AI or search provider, a Data Cleanup provider, or a data broker. We instruct contracted processors to delete or return data when the contract and law require, but an independent controller responds under its own notice and legal obligations.
A file, report, source link, screenshot, webhook delivery, API response, or shared copy already received by another authorized user or external system cannot always be recalled. The recipient is responsible for its continued use and deletion duties.
Timing and backup deletion
A verified in-product request begins immediately and the primary automated deletion usually completes promptly. Assisted, contested, complex, or legally scoped requests may take longer. We aim to complete or substantively respond within 30 days and will give notice if applicable law permits and requires an extension.
Encrypted backups and disaster-recovery copies may retain deleted data for a limited rotation period. They are isolated from ordinary product use and are overwritten under the backup schedule. If a recovery is necessary before overwrite, deletion controls are reapplied before restored data returns to ordinary use where technically feasible.
Consequences and irreversibility
After deletion, you may lose access to searches, reports, chats, saved profiles, API keys, credits, settings, receipts stored only in the account, and other product history. We cannot promise recovery. Re-registering with the same email normally creates a new account and does not restore deleted data, entitlements, prices, promotions, or prior history.
Deletion does not cancel debts, resolve a chargeback, waive a violation, erase a legal claim, or entitle you to cash for unused promotional value. An unused purchased credit or recent charge may be eligible for review under the Refund Policy; request that review before deletion when practical so the transaction is easier to locate.
Delay, denial, and appeal
We may delay or limit deletion when we cannot verify ownership, an account is under a security or fraud investigation, funds are disputed, a legal hold or court order applies, information is needed to protect another person, or a legal exception permits retention. We will limit the retained information and explain the main reason unless law or security prevents disclosure.
Reply with the subject "Deletion appeal" if you believe the request was incorrectly denied or incompletely performed. Include the confirmation and the specific category you believe remains. A different reviewer will consider the additional context when practical. You may also complain to a competent privacy or consumer authority.
Privacy rights and contact
Account deletion is one way to exercise a deletion right, but it does not replace rights to access, know, correct, port, restrict, object, withdraw consent, opt out of covered sale or sharing, or complain. Those rights and regional exceptions are described in the Privacy Policy.
Send deletion and account questions to support@deepsearch.app. Formal privacy requests may be sent to support@deepsearch.app. We do not charge for an ordinary request or unlawfully discriminate because a person exercised a privacy right.
